Album Luxor Aswan |
English:
An endless road in the middle of the desert, constantly punished by a side wind for more than 200 km with the only view the unreachable horizon, leads us to the city of Luxor. Although we are sceptical about what is awaiting us and how we will be deceived the fact is that this time we have a surprisingly positive feeling.
The city is big enough, its traffic is manageable and the accommodation within Egyptian standards of budget hotels makes our stay in this place a pleasantly memorable one.
We can even touch ancient hieroglyphics more than 4000 years old in the amazing ruins of the Karnak temple.
Our South African goal is still far away so it's time to go on with our trip to the next and last Egyptian city before boarding the infamous boat which will take us to a new country, Sudan. Our motorbikes travel in parallel and will reach the same point a few days later.
In the end we leave the never-ending bureaucracy and enter a new dimension, in every sense, to this new country.
